Introduction

The business wiki is one of the most powerful Enterprise 2.0 tools and is capable of transforming the nature of communication within a company. While normal corporate communication flows in a straight line, often from top to bottom, a business wiki can create a synergy of communication that flows from the bottom up.

Business explenation

A business (also known as enterprise or firm) is an organization involved in the trade of goods, services, or both to consumers. Businesses are predominant in capitalist economies, where most of them are privately owned and administered to earn profit to increase the wealth of their owners. Businesses may also be not-for-profit or state-owned. A business owned by multiple individuals may be referred to as a company, although that term also has a more precise meaning.

Articles covered

Articles covered in this wiki project consist mainly of business related and our services, such as accountancy, business, company, immigration, law and other. This is a profit enterprise wiki style project mainly with financial (see finances) interests, however respecting wiki culture we intend to leave this as open source project without anything profitable, such as advertisements or some other type of web monetization.

The purpose of this wiki

Global communications is an obvious target for a wiki in the workplace. The ease-of-use makes it a great tool for dispensing information across the globe, and the simplicity of editing makes it easy for satellite offices to offer input back to headquarters.

Knowledge bases

Another excellent use for the business wiki is as a replacement for knowledge bases and frequently asked questions (FAQs). The collaborative nature of wikis makes it the perfect tool for small teams of people who need to create and distribute information to a large group of readers.

A place to meet

Wikis can also play a role in enhancing meetings, and in some cases, replace them altogether. A wiki can be a great place to store meeting minutes and provide the opportunity for employees to offer additional input outside of the meeting.
