Business immigration

Business immigration or immigrant investor programs are set forth by countries to attract foreign capital and business people by providing the right of residence and citizenship in return.

Targeted inbound FDI can be achieved by these programs. Countries are able to specify which parts of the economy are to be invested in.

One of the most popular and sought after is the Canadian Immigrant Investor Program. Quebec, the largest province in Canada administers its own VIP Immigrant Investor Program. Similar programs exist for the US, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Bulgaria-EU, Latvia-EU (see Residence permit in Latvia) and others.

Business immigration mostly is proceed when business enlargement is ongoing.
