Business

The word business refers to commercial activities in the broad sense. Any action with which person can legitimately earn and which legal status is presented in accordance with statutory requirements can be called as business.

Terms- enterprise, firm and company in some cases have the same meaning as term business. It depends of the context, usually firm and enterprise are used in the same meaning. Company may be referred as business owned by multiple individuals.

Businesses are predominant in capitalist economies.

The 5 most powerful business brands of the world are Apple, Microsoft, Coca-Cola, IBM and Google.

The three most common usages of term business

*) the singular usage to mean a particular organization, eg. Microsoft Corporation.

*) the generalized usage to refer to a particular market sector, eg.the movie business and also the compound forms such as agribusiness;

*) broadest meaning. This is used to encompass all activities by the community of suppliers of goods and services.
