Latvian competition law

Latvian competition law is a legislative act adopted by the Parliament of the Republic of Latvia and proclaimed by President. Latvian competition law regulate the economical competition in Latvia between competitors. Any of the competitors is a market participant in Latvian competition law aspect.

The purpose of Latvian competition law is to protect, maintain and develop free, fair and equal competition in the interests of the public in all economic sectors.

Latvian competition law stipulates that any market participant who is in a dominant position is prohibited from abusing such dominant position in any manner in the territory of Latvia.

This Law applies to market participants and to any registered or unregistered groups of market participants in Latvia.
